HWA Kerala flood relief 2019 – Updates

Date: 10 Aug 2019 7.30 PM

It is a slight relief that the water was subsiding in some areas like Nilamboor, Wayanad, and Kozhikode today afternoon and the rain has also reduced comparatively but thousands are still in camps with shortage for basic necessities. Soon, volunteers and residents will have to engage in cleaning work if water resides completely.

In Kavalappara, where we witnessed one of the worst landslides, people are still trapped under mud and some could be alive. There are around 3000 to 4000 people still in relief camps there alone. HWA volunteer is in the field along with other volunteers in Nilamboor area coordinating the relief materials. HWA is procuring the necessary materials from a nearby area from time to time. We are in need of funds close to 70000 urgently to provide nighties, lunkies, inners to meet up the needs in these camps where we could reach only today evening.

Kindly donate generously so that the filed volunteers can arrange the necessary items!
